We like to include all of the wall mounting hardware in your order. That way, we can help ensure you have everything you need for the proper installation of both the coat racks and shelving. It’s helpful to know any details about your walls that may be helpful in selecting the wall mounting hardware, i.e., the age of the building.

Each order includes the mounting hardware (per wall type) and installation instructions. All rack orders come with HangSafe Hooks already mounted, so they are ready to attach to your wall. Shelving orders also include steel brackets for mounting.

We’re happy to match the color to your space. If you’d rather the racks or shelving be a paint color, there will be an additional charge. However, you will be notified at the time of order to confirm the paint price charge and color.

The height you hang your safety coat hooks is determined by the ages of the children who use the hooks the most. Our safety coat hooks are safe enough to hang at eye level. We suggest installing coat hooks:

• 3-5-year-olds, the top of the coat racks should measure 42.7 inches from the floor.
• 5-7-year-olds, the top of the coat racks should measure 49 inches from the floor.
• 7-9-year-olds, the top of the coat racks should measure 53 inches from the floor.
• 9-year-olds (and older), the top of the coat racks should measure 60.9″ inches from the floor.

If you have limited wall space, consider hanging coat racks double row to provide extra storage for heavy backpacks and coats!

How much available wall space you have determines how many hooks will fit. Each rack is available at four spacing options (the length from the center of one hook to the next). Your spacing option will determine how many hooks will fit.

Then, choose your color from our stain options. And what types of walls you will be mounting the racks.

Hook-only orders ship within 3-5 business days. Coat Racks ship within 5-7 business days once the order is confirmed, and shelving order ship within 12 business days.

Most domestic orders are shipped through UPS. International orders are shipped through USPS. Larger orders will be shipped freight, and you will be contacted with information to confirm the delivery date.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail with tracking numbers once it has shipped, so you’ll know exactly what day to expect your order.

Most of the schools we work with have lockers. What most of them also have is hallway floors covered in winter coats from November to March, because lockers weren't built for what kids actually bring to school. HangSafe solves the coat problem without touching the lockers.

Every order is custom-built to your space, so we confirm layout, color, material, and wall type carefully in the proposal stage. Before we cut a rack, every detail is what you approved. Revisions during proposal are welcome. Once the order is accepted and production begins, the racks are being built specifically for your building.

Racks arrive fully assembled. Hardware matched to your wall type is in the box. Most racks install in under 15 minutes per section. If you hit something unusual, call us — 33 years of wall-type experience on staff.

21 vibrant polyethylene colors and 10 wood stains as standards. For custom matches, send us a sample block from your finish package — we match to the wood or stain in person. Different screens render color differently; physical samples are the only way to know for sure.

Indoor or outdoor rated. Open-walkway schools across California, Arizona, and similar climates use HangSafe outdoors. Vibrant polyethylene racks handle exterior exposure.

We haven't maxed out the weight on a hook yet. Multiple items, every weekend, for as long as you need them. If you ever manage to break one, we replace it.

The hook is flat-profile polycarbonate — no sharp edges, no protruding metal. It flexes under impact instead of snapping. That's why the product exists: HangSafe was designed in 1992 after the founder saw his son playing near protruding metal hooks in a church hallway.

The proposal is built to share — forward it to your team or your approver. We accept purchase orders from public school districts and credit card payment at checkout. Happy to answer any questions from reviewers directly.

Yes. Tax-exempt orders are handled routinely — send us your tax exemption certificate and we'll update the proposal.
